March 2020 Dividend and Option Income Summary

March 2020 is in the books. Let's see how much income my investments produced for me last month.

In this blogpost I will list my dividend and option income for the month of March 2020

In March I realized a total of -$12,506.56. This is made up of $468.98 of dividends and -$12,975.54 from option trading. Ouch! That's some big losses. But that was sort of to be expected with the insane drop of the markets in March.

Let's start with the dividend side.

These are the stocks that paid me a dividend:

Enbridge (ENB): $13.30
Unilever (UN): $18.83
Royal Dutch Shell (RDS): $115.47
Suncor Energy (SU): $9.56
Phillips 66 (PSX): $11.47
Ford (F): $20.40
Wells Fargo (WFC): $10.84
Intel (INTC): $17.67
Boeing (BA): $17.47
Pfizer (PFE): $16.15
United Parcel Services (UPS): $17.17
Chevron (CVX): $10.96
Johnson & Johnson (JNJ): $12.11
Exxon Mobil (XOM): $22.18
IBM (IBM): $13.77
Prudential (PRU): $14.02
Walgreens Boots Alliance (WBA): $7.78
3M (MMM): $24.99
Microsoft (MSFT): $13.00
Realty Income (O): $4.94
International Paper (IP): $11.76
Polaris (PII): $8.96
NextEra Energy (NEE): $11.90
Qualcomm (QCOM): $15.81
Lockheed Martin (LMT): $12.24
Pepsico (PEP): $16.23

Last year March I received $241.01 in dividends. That means that this year I received %94.58 more dividends than last year March. Nice!

All dividends are after dividend taxes of 15%, but I can reclaim this via the Dutch IRS, so there's an added bonus there when I do my taxes for 2020 (in March next year).

And now on to the options..

Well, that's a sad story. I've realized a loss of -$12,975.54.

Although that looks really bad at first sight, it's actually a rather promising number. I'll go over the reasons for this in an upcoming blogpost. Stay tuned.

How was your month? Hopefully you received some nice dividends as well. Did you make any stock purchases while stocks were on sale?
